Fruttare Banana and Milk Dessert Bars

I picked up these Fruttare Banana and Milk Dessert Bars at Target because I had a coupon.  I’ve seen these advertised but hadn’t spotted them in stores until I saw them at Target (I now see them carried at a lot of other grocery retailers). I love banana flavored desserts, so without a doubt I needed to try the banana and milk.

Texture wise, these bars are very smooth and creamy.  There are bits of frozen banana throughout the bar which give it a bite when you get to those pieces.  It’s a very solid banana flavor, but it doesn’t have that overwhelming artificial banana taste, it tastes like a regular moderately ripe banana would taste – just in ice cream form.  They’re sweet, but not sickeningly sweet as regular ice creams can tend to get.

There are a number of other flavors available – strawberry and milk, peach and milk as well as coconut and milk.  There are other Fruttare bars which are more like a fruit flavored “freeze pop” but I have not tried those so I cannot vouch for the flavor, texture, etc.
