S'mores Oreo's

I would be lying if I said I wasn't eagerly looking forward to trying the new S'mores Oreo's. I had been keeping my eyes peeled while walking past the Oreo's at my local grocery stores. Then I noticed fellow Instagrammers were posting about them after spotting them at Target .. so off to Target I went.

I will make a bold statement before I delve into the deliciousness that these cookies are. So with that, I will go on record to state: these are hands down one of the best flavored Oreo's I have tried date.

The Oreo's are exactly as they're described - S'mores flavored. The cookie is graham cracker flavored, the cream is a mixture of chocolate and marshmallow flavored cream. Together, you undoubtedly get the classic flavor of a s'more just without the ooey gooey mess that comes with eating a true s'more. The only other difference that's not there is the burnt crunchy exterior of the marshmallow (granted, being, if you eat your s'mores that way). They're a true perfect rendition of the s'mores ... so good in fact that when I took the package out to share amongst family my neice, nephew and mother had their fair share.  So much of a fair share that I picked up another package while at the grocery store.

The S'moreo's should continue to be a staple in the brands product line because it simply is that good!

Goldfish Grahams S'mores

I picked up a bag of the Goldfish Grahams S'mores at the grocery store the other day, simply to try something new and because they were on sale. I've tried some of the flavored Goldfish before but some have really been a miss for me ... so I admit, I wasn't sure how these little gems were going to turn out.

Upon opening the bag I was surprised to see chocolate graham goldfish, graham cracker goldfish AND itty bitty marshmallow cut goldfish. The chocolate and graham goldfish totally remind me of Honey Grahams which used to be one of my favorite school snacks when I was a kid. But the marshmallows are crispy little marshmallows ... similar to the marshmallows you'd get in a box of Lucky Charms. They're good on their own (if you like to eat them one at a time) or if you put one of each flavor in your mouth, you do really get the flavors associated with a s'mores.

They're a great unique snack ... and they're also kid tested and adult approved.

S'mores

Summer time ... summer fun ... campfires, bonfires and even firing up the grill. For some reason during the summer and fall months, S'mores are just something a lot of folks look forward to. It's got the crunch and it's got the sweetness - so it does the job and typically one is more than enough, at least for my taste buds.

We had a barbecue at my house this past weekend and my aunt brought over the ingredients to make s'mores. I didn't have any the day of, but the next day they sounded delicious. So I made a couple to share amongst family.

I took the easy woman's way out ... sticking a few marshmallows on a skewer stick and "roasting" them over an oven flame. Ideally I burn my marshmallows because I swear it tastes better that way because the inside gets all ooey gooey and the outside has a bit of a crunch.

The best part is a s'more is only 5 points plus - at least the way I make them:

1 graham cracker sheet
2 (standard size) roasted marshmallows
1/4 (3 squares) Hershey chocolate bar

Keebler S'Mores Peanut Butter

I ran into the grocery store on my lunch break one day and while trying to get in and out, a yellow package caught my attention. Since yellow is my favorite color, I turned to see whatever it might be ... and that's when the new Keebler S'Mores Peanut Butter cookies jumped into my shopping cart.  Admittedly they ended up in there before I even had a chance to look at the nutrition facts.

Storing them away in the cabinet, I finally pulled them out a couple weeks ago to give them a try. Each package contains 8 cookies, which are a little larger than your average cookie. They're lighter in texture and in between a crunchy and soft texture. The middle of the cookie is filled with a very light and airy peanut butter. The combination of cookie, peanut butter and chocolate is a bit reminiscent of a s'mores but truthfully not a dead ringer for the simple dessert.  These are very sweet ... and I found a single cookie was merely all I could handle.

If you're not a peanut butter cookie fan, there is also an original flavor available - where instead of peanut butter it's a marshmallow (fluff/crème) in the center.

Each cookie is 130 calories or 3 points plus values.

Trader Joe’s Smashing S’mores

Trader Joe’s has some of the most delicious decedent snacks and chocolates and that of course includes Trader Joe’s Milk Chocolate Smashing S’mores.  Ever since I purchased these to try out, I have been obsessed as have others in my family.  Typically whenever I make a Trader Joe’s haul I’m asked to pick up a container or two of these for my family members.

The folks at Trader Joe’s come up with the most ingenious snacks.  Smashing S’mores are essentially a miniature s’mores (think along the lines of miniature candy bars sold in bags).  There’s a graham cracker bottom, a marshmallow center and the whole thing s then encased in milk chocolate with a slight drizzle of dark chocolate over the top.  They’re perfect in size (two bites and you’re done), but sweet enough to satisfy your sweet tooth with one. Or two if you want to enjoy a serving size without needing to go back for more.

They can be eaten straight out of the container OR you can microwave them for 4-6 seconds.  They’re honestly good both ways, but microwaved they’re a magical experience.  The marshmallow gets gooey in the middle, but the chocolate stays intact. They’re delicious, just purely delicious.

Each s’more is 2 points plus values.  A serving size is 2 s’mores which is 4 points plus.  Typically when I have them, I’ll enjoy one and it’s all I need because the sugar can just become overwhelming for me if I were to even try to have more than two.  These are just under $5 a container, well worth it in my opinion.

QUESTION:
Have you tried Smashing S’mores?

Archer Farms S’Mores Light Roast Coffee

I spotted this new limited time only flavor from Archer Farms while at Target and decided I needed to pick it up to give it a try.  I happen to be a huge coffee lover and since going out and getting coffee almost every day can surely cause a dent in your pocket especially when you’re getting coffee for two.

The coffee was on sale for $5.99 a bag, but I’ve found I enjoy the Archer Farms brand of coffee – particularly the light roast flavored variety.  The S’Mores flavor is advertised as showcasing the flavors of toasted marshmallow and graham crackers.  I did try this hot, but I also made iced coffees out of it and I have to say it’s utterly delicious.  You can definitely notice a very mild marshmallow flavoring with a hint of graham cracker and perhaps even chocolate in the background.  But the more prominent flavoring being that of the marshmallow -- it’s not overwhelming, it’s very subtle on the palette.  I’m sure you could try to increase the flavor intensity by adding more grounds before brewing, but that would depend on how you enjoy your coffee.

Quite a delish cup and hopefully it’s still on the shelves when I need to purchase another bag of coffee ground!

QUESTION:
Have you tried any Archer Farms coffees? If so, what’s your favorite flavor?
