Limited Batch Chobani Watermelon Greek Yogurt

I popped into Target to pick up a few things. When scanning the yogurt case, I spotted and immediately picked up the Limited Batch Chobani Watermelon Greek Yogurt. My initial reaction was – get out of here WATERMELON YOGURT?! I tend to get ‘adventurous’ with Greek yogurts so I was excited to give this a try.

Watermelon is one of my favorite fruits … so I wasn’t sure exactly how this would pan out and I was a little hesitant with the first bite.  As with most unique flavored foods, it can either go right or way left. Regardless, I have to say, this yogurt is absolutely delicious! It’s got a mild watermelon flavor along with that slightly tart greek yogurt flavor. It’s got a refreshing quality to it while it’s not overly artificially flavored and it’s not very sweet either.  The consistency of the yogurt is also a lot thinner than your average Chobani yogurt.

Limited Edition Watermelon Oreos

While shopping at Target I had seen a new [or truthfully a repeat] Oreo flavor a few times. Initially I was like "Watermelon? No way..." until one afternoon on a trip through the store I decided to pick up a package of the Limited Edition Watermelon Oreo cookies for an Oreo taste test session.

Initially the package was tucked away in the cabinet until I decided to take them out and share with family at a barbecue. At first we were skeptical ... I mean watermelon Oreo’s? Opening them up, your nose is awarded with a watermelon scent. Then upon first bite ... you truly do get a watermelon flavor.  It’s what I would assume a watermelon gum flavor would taste like … that sweet artificial watermelon flavor. It's weird considering it's a cookie ... but Nabisco truly hit the nail on the head with the flavor in these. The watermelon flavor isn't overwhelming and it isn't sickeningly chemically as some artificial watermelon products can get.  The golden cookie definitely helps make this a smooth flavor ... because a chocolate variety would simply be repulsive.  Overall? These aren’t bad …

A serving is 2 cookies which is 150 calories or 4 points plus values. Or you can have one cookie for 2 points plus.

Snack: Watermelon with Feta & Kalamata Olives

One of my all time favorite summer time snacks is an amazing combination that is so delicious and refreshing at the same time.  Some people may be turned off thinking “What? Watermelon with feta and olives?!” Don’t knock it ‘til you try it! It’s seriously delicious and worth the try.

I chunk up fresh watermelon, pair it with 1 ounce of fresh feta cheese and a few kalamata olives.  The saltiness from the cheese and olives brings out the natural sweetness in the watermelon and makes it even juicier.  The combination is just stellar.  I swear it taste best when sitting around a pool on a very sunny day.

What’s pictured is 3 points plus worth of cheese and olives. Totally worth the “splurge” if you will.
