Skinny Cow Creamy Iced Coffee Drink - Vanilla Latte

I'm an avid coffee fan ... but I'm very particular about how I take my coffee. I decided to go out on a limb and give the Skinny Cow Creamy Iced Coffee Drink in Vanilla Latte a try.

 

Hearing "iced coffee" I assumed these would be in the refrigerator section of my local grocery store. But surprisingly enough these were stocked in the drink aisle, alongside some of the iced tea beverages. There are three flavors available (my store only had two) so I opted to go with the vanilla latte. I popped it in the fridge and let it sit for a few days before deciding to give it a try.

 

Upon first sip .. I was completely disappointed. The drink tastes like someone poured a glass of milk and grabbed a squeeze bottle of that artificial coffee flavored syrup, poured some in and mixed it up and tried to pull it off as an iced coffee. It tastes like a chocolate milk that's got a coffee flavor to it. It's sweet, it's moderately thick ... and it's really, really not worth it. It reminded me of the Special K Protein coffee drinks they launched which I was repulsed by. Truth be told ... I wouldn't repurchase these, even if I had a coupon that made them free. This was just not my cup of tea.

Skinny Cow Milk Chocolate Blissful Truffle bars

I had heard so much about the new Skinny Cow Milk Chocolate Blissful Truffle Bars that I went in search for them, for what felt like, ever. Any time I was in Target, I'd make a trip back to their candy aisle and scour the shelves and end cap displays. I'd come up empty handed for the longest time ... until one random afternoon I spotted them at my local Target and snagged a box (they're also available in dark chocolate).

 

From the rave reviews these were getting, I hyped these up to be mind blowingly delicious. I'm a pretty big fan of Skinny Cow treats (candy and ice creams) so comparing them to past favorites I anticipated these to move quickly to the top of that list. Unfortunately, they didn't and fell completely flat. The chocolate itself is a smooth chocolate ... but the "blissful truffle bar" was such a dud. The bar is boring.

 

The truffle bar is airy, which reminded me of that airy chocolate bar Hershey had put out a while back, which was a total flop. The chocolate that covered the truffle bar was boring. The whole thing was such a disappointing fail. So disappointing in fact that I brought the box to work and dumped the contents into my departments candy jar.

Skinny Cow Heavenly Crisp Cookies & Cream

I spotted the Skinny Cow Heavenly Crisp Cookies & Cream bars while at Target one afternoon and I popped them into my grocery cart without a second thought. Cookies & cream is one of my all time favorite ice creams and candy flavorings ... so to find a guilt-free version definitely was a two thumbs up moment ... even before tasting it.

The bar consists of a delicate cookies and cream flavored crisp (wafer cookie). The wafers are chocolate crisps with a "cream" flavored cream between them, which is then all coated in a smooth milk chocolate. The flavor is undoubtedly cookies & cream without being overwhelming artificial. The bar itself is sweet, but not overly, and the cookies & cream flavor is there the whole time while also leaving a mild aftertaste. Very reminiscent of good quality cookies & cream ice cream. The chocolate is thin, so just the slightest of a warm touch makes it start to melt and slide around on the fingers easily.

All together it's a scrumptious little treat, which sets it apart from other chocolate bars.

Skinny Cow Snickerdoodle Ice Cream Sandwiches

I’m a huge fan of Skinny Cow ice cream. I had seen the Skinny Cow Snickerdoodle ice cream sandwiches for a long time now but had yet to pick it up until recently. And part of me is wondering what exactly I was waiting for…

I was truly wowed by the flavor of this ice cream sandwich because it tastes exactly like a snickerdoodle cookie when eaten together. It cures not only the itch for ice cream, but also the want for something sweet and snacky.  According to the box, the ice cream is listed as a “cinnamon low fat ice cream swirled between oatmeal cookie wafers”. The two flavor combinations together undoubtedly add up to Snickerdoodle. There is a nice warm cinnamon sugar flavor to the dessert which makes it all around delicious.  It’s perfect for a mid-afternoon snack, while it’s also great for a late evening after dinner dessert. Either way, I’m a big fan.

Skinny Cow Cookies ‘n Crème Truffle Ice Cream

Skinny Cow is one of my “preferred” ice cream brands at the market when I’m looking for single serving ice creams. While at the store I spotted Skinny Cow Cookies ‘n Crème Truffle Ice Cream and I decided to pick it up since cookies & cream is one of my favorite flavors. Admittedly another reason I love Skinny Cow ice cream is the fact the Weight Watchers Points Plus values are printed on the boxes … which makes choosing easier.

The box describes the ice cream as “chocolatey ribbons drizzled on cookies ‘n cream low fat ice cream”.  I was excited to have my first ice cream for dessert because I’m a huge fan of the Skinny Cow cookies & cream sandwiches. Although, I have to say I was left mildly unsatisfied.  The ice cream does have chocolatey ribbons surrounding it, which give it a nice mild sweetness, but my ice cream tasted more of “cream” than “cookies.” There are cookie bits running throughout it but some of them are so tiny that my taste buds didn’t even pick up the flavor, let alone the texture of cookie bits. They’re not bad, but they just didn’t live up to my expectations.

Skinny Cow Chocolate Mint Ganache

Skinny Cow is one of my favorite ice cream brands on the market. Why? Well, they make decadent desserts which are healthier for you, taste great and don’t leave you feeling like you’ve been ripped off.  Needless to say when I spotted the Skinny Cow Chocolate Mint Ganache at my local Target, I had to pick up a box.

The fact these ice creams have a chocolate ice cream cone were a winning factor for me. Admittedly mint ice cream isn’t one of my absolute favorites but it was a twist.  The vanilla portion of the cone I find to be on the border of too minty, whereas the chocolate portion is a perfect blend of mint and chocolate. Not overwhelming, perfectly delicious on the palette. The only downside is the description lists “ganache” but there’s only a little dollop of ganache at the very top of the ice cream cone. Once that’s eaten … there is no more magically delicious ganache. There is no ganache in the bottom of the cone … which I have to admit is a bit disheartening because the ganache is the flavor you’d like to be left with when all is said and done.

Overall they’re a pretty decent ice cream cone … but if you’re not a fan of mint (even the slightest), you won’t be a fan of these.

Skinny Cow Chocolate Mousse Ganache

When I had saw that Skinny Cow had come out with a new ice cream cone, I was put on the hunt. Unfortunately I came up empty handed for nearly 2 months until just recently I spotted the Skinny Cow Chocolate Mousse Ganache ice creams at my local Target. Since I was so excited to find them I purchased a box and unfortunately enough they weren’t on sale when I purchased.

Typically I am a fan of Skinny Cow ice cream because I find the brand simply gets it right. Deliciously “healthier for you” ice cream which is lower in fat, calories or points plus values in comparison to some of the other ice creams on the market.  The ice cream itself is a blend of vanilla and chocolate ice creams and chocolate ganache. The whole shebang is pretty good … but I have to say the best part is the little glob of ganache at the center of the top of the cone. Sadly, the ganache wasn’t as plentiful as I would have hoped for (I was hoping for a chocolate ganache core). The ganache was the flavor that I savored the most … whereas the rest of the ice cream is the classic smooth creamy ice cream Skinny Taste is known to provide.

Would I repurchase them again? Probably if I were in the mood for an ice cream cone … although I may give the mint a shot to see if it’s any better than the chocolate mousse.

Skinny Cow Cupcake Batter Ice Cream

When I saw Skinny Cow had released a new single serving ice cream Cupcake Batter Ice Cream (wayyyy back in March!), I was immediately on the hunt.  Sadly, my hunting continuously came up high and dry because I couldn’t find them anywhere – they just were not available in my area for the longest time -- until recently. I’ve seen them popping up on grocery store shelves, so I of course had to grab one to give it a whirl.

One thing I love about Skinny Cow ice creams is they taste just as good as the full-fat point heavy ice creams on the market. They also make shopping simpler because the points plus values are printed on the packaging making choosing a little easier.

I’m a lover of cake batter ice cream, but I believe I may have hyped this point friendly cupcake batter ice cream up more than I should have. Perhaps I made it too good to be true because after a few bites, sadly, I was no longer impressed.  The cupcake/cake batter flavor fizzled after 3-bites and I was left with something that kind of resembled caramel.  It was odd. I doubt I’ll be buying another one of these … I’ll stick with my beloved Skinny Cow cones and sandwiches.

Skinny Cow Cookies n Cream Ice Cream Sandwiches

I have been a big fan of Skinny Cow ice creams because they’re a healthier alternative to some of the other ice creams on the market.  Even though they are a healthier alterative, you’re definitely not sacrificing taste or flavor for lesser calories and fat.

I purchased the Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Sandwiches because cookies and cream is my all time favorite gallon ice cream flavor.  I’ve tried low fat cookies and cream ice creams in the past and haven’t always been the biggest fan because the ice cream is more icy than creamy.  The sandwiches are just pure delicious – a nice chocolate cookie “crust” and a smooth and creamy cookie filled ice cream.  A great treat, so great that even those who don’t necessarily count calories or watch what they eat, reach for these when they’re in the freezer and I offer up ice cream.

One whole sandwich is 4 points plus values, which is completely worth it when in comparison to some of the other outrageously high point ice creams on n freezer shelves.  Plus the great things with Skinny Cows is since they’ve repackaged their boxes each ice cream sandwich is individually wrapped for better quality and freshness!

Skinny Cow Pretty in Pink Velvet Truffle Ice Cream

I feel I always sing praises round Skinny Cow ice creams.  They make healthier alternatives to ice cream that taste amazing.  The one thing that comes with eating healthier is you sometimes have to sacrifice flavor and thankfully that is not the case with this.

This is the first time I’ve tried the Pretty in Pink Velvet Truffle Ice Cream and I have to say it’s quite delicious!  It’s a cream cheese flavored frosting that is drizzled over a pink velvet ice cream.  AMAZING!  It’s so creamy and delicious.  It almost has that creamy cheesecake sort of feel to it even though it’s ice cream.  I just found I really enjoyed this flavor.  And the greatest part with Skinny Cow is they print the Weight Watchers points right onto the back of their product containers which makes things (well, easy point wise – not choice wise!).  All this goodness for only 3 Points Plus!

Skinny Cow Chocolate Covered Cherry Ice Cream Cones

I’ve learned over the years that having delicious ice cream, doesn’t mean that you have to have ice cream which is loaded with unnecessary fat and sugar.  Most people assume when you’re on a weight loss journey that there are certain things that are just off limits – and that’s not the case.  You can have anything you want in moderation, but it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth it or not.  Some full-fat ice creams are just not worth it in my eyes, so in those cases I reach for healthier alternatives to ice cream – one of my favorite brands being Skinny Cow.

I spotted the Chocolate Covered Cherry Ice Cream at Target, so I decided to pick it up because it sounded delicious.  It’s got cherry low fat ice cream which is wrapped in a chocolate cone with fudge topping.  Now I love chocolate covered cherry chocolates, so I figured this just had to be delicious – and it was!  The ice cream was a delicious cherry flavoring mixed with a bit of chocolate sauce.  I am a cone fan, so the chocolate cone was definitely a home-run!

The greatest part?  The ice cream only has 150 calories in it, and it’s only 4 points plus.

Skinny Cow Peanut Butter Crème Filled Chocolates

I spotted these Skinny Cow Peanut Butter Crème filled chocolates while at Dollar Tree.  I had purchased the caramel filled chocolates but had yet to try them.  But considering I am a sucker for anything peanut butter candy related I had to purchase them – and I am glad I did!  I’m a sucker for peanut butter cups, but sometimes the points plus associated with them isn’t too appealing.

The package comes with 3 thinner peanut butter filled chocolate crème candies.  The candy is a nice, smooth milk chocolate with a thin filling of peanut butter in the middle of them.  It’s nice, smooth and creamy.  The greatest part is each pack is only 130 calories – 4 points plus.  BUT if you wanted to eat 1 it’s 1 points plus, 2 is 2 points plus and the 3 is four points plus.  Quite a yummy treat.t!  This would be great to bring to the movie theater for your chocolate fix!
