Bigelow Caramel & Coconut Herbal Tea

As mentioned in a previous post, when I heard Bigelow had released some Girl Scout cookie flavored teas, I was on the hunt. I specifically made a trip to my local The Christmas Tree Shop and picked up a box of the Bigelow Caramel & Coconut Herbal Tea. The tea is a tip of the hat to (my beloved) Girl Scout Samoas cookie.

I brewed a cup of tea to have as an afternoon treat and I found the flavor of the tea is very much caramel & coconut ... although I found it was missing that classic chocolate flavor that comes with samoas. IT definitely tilts a hat at Samoas cookies, but it's not a deaf ringer. The tea is flavored with classically sweeter flavors, but I don't find it to be sweet tasting  After brewing II added a packet of sweetener to it. Even with that it wasn't right ... so I added in a splash of milk and it was perfect. Typically I like my teas black, but there are a few that are an exception to the rule and this is one of them.

Overall, it was a good treat, especially in the late afternoon when my taste buds may be looking for something sweeter to snack on. The best part is it comes with no guilt and no added calories/points plus values.

Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice Rooibos Herbal Blend Tea

I’m sure many of you have read how much I enjoy pumpkin-things especially in the fall/winter months. So with that I was given a tin of Trader Joe`s Pumpkin Spice Rooibos Herbal Blend Tea and I got that giddy child feeling when you get something you typically love but haven’t tried.

The moment you open the metal canister you get a nice fragrant smell -- pumpkin, nutmeg and a little cinnamon. It just has a very homey and delicious scent. After reading the ingredients, I was a little hesitant because the tea does have clove in it and I just happen to not be a huge clove fan.  Thankfully, I have found after trying the tea, the clove taste doesn’t come through very much otherwise this would have been a complete miss for me

I prepared my tea as I would any other.  Boiled the water in my tea kettle, poured it over the tea pouch and let it steep for about 5 minutes. I then removed the tea bag and added in one packet of artificial sweetener and gave it a whirl. I have to say, this was really delicious. The flavors blended together nicely and there was a hint of all the flavors present (cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, etc), but not one stood out more than the pumpkin flavor. Which is appreciated.

Celestial Seasonings Sweet Harvest Pumpkin Tea

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again … I am pumpkin obsessed. I love fall, I love pumpkin … so you can pretty much say this is my favorite time of the year.  With my love of pumpkin I’m more than willing to try pumpkin items out. One of those things was this Celestial Seasonings Sweet Harvest Pumpkin Black Tea.

I’m a coffee girl by nature, but I do enjoy my teas here and there … typically while at work around 2/3 o’clock it becomes “tea time”.  It also becomes tea time when I’m absolutely freezing and I’ve already had my morning hot coffee.  This Sweet Harvest Pumpkin tea is delicious – it’s got a very fragrant pumpkin scent and taste, but it’s pleasant on the palette.  I enjoyed my tea black with a little 0 calorie sweetener in it.  It would also be good mixed with a little bit of milk if you’re into that sort of thing.

I do want to point out that this is a caffeinated tea and it also has some natural stevia extract in it to help give it that sweet flavor the description states. I personally highly dislike the taste of Stevia but I find it’s not noticeable in the beverage. The tea is slightly sweet and not bland as regular black teas are, but it’s not really a noticeable flavor.
